The Sales module is where confirmed opportunities are turned into priced, fulfilled deals. It works hand in hand with the CRM module: a deal is generated from a CRM Opportunity, then progressed through pricing, approval, fulfilment and invoicing.
The Sales Module
The Sales module has two areas, reached from the top navigation: Deals and Customers. Deals are the priced records of work to be supplied; Customers are the billing entities that deals and invoices are raised against.
The Deals index groups deals by status across four tabs — Draft, Active, Completed and Cancelled — so you can see what is being priced, what is in fulfilment, and what is closed.
Key Concepts
A Deal is generated from a CRM Opportunity and holds the customer, financials and one or more Builds. A Build is a configured product on the deal, each with a linked Sales Order in the Stock module. The Bill of Materials defines the components that make up a build. Deal pricing is governed by the Pricing Level and Invoicing Level set on the deal.
Where the Pipeline Lives
The sales pipeline itself — prospecting and tracking opportunities through their stages — is managed in the CRM module under Opportunities, not in the Sales module. See CRM - Managing Opportunities.
Quoting
Quotes are produced as a Sales Order PDF generated from a deal. See Sales - Generating a Quote.
